**Garden bench appeal**
Working Together Ludlow and the Ludlow War Memorial Fund are asking anyone in the local area with unwanted wooden benches or garden furniture to get in touch.
Here at WT, with all the new social distancing rules, we’re looking to hold more of our activities outside and some additional garden furniture would really help us to do this.
Last year we received some garden furniture that had been renovated by volunteers at the War Memorial Fund and this has been really well used by our members through the summer – providing the opportunity for us to enjoy lots of outdoor activities, including picnics and, recently, Youth Club’s Covid Safe barbeques.
As the War Memorial Fund are also keen to receive donations of old, unused and even damaged benches – we have agreed to work together to put out a joint appeal targeting people that are tidying away for winter.
The War Memorial Fund has a team of volunteers who can renovate, restore and, in some cases, repair donated benches or garden furniture.
These are then offered, for a donation, to organisations, including local charities. The money raised goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of Ludlow’s Peace Memorial – which has been part of the town’s
remembrance service for many years.
Donations can be made through the Ludlow War Memorial Fund’s Facebook group:
or by contacting us here at Working Together.
Timmy’s Exam Success
We love to hear about the achievements of members of the WT family and were thrilled to hear that Timmy Brown passed his college exams recently, gaining a level 5 in Maths and a pass in C&G Catering.
Well done Timmy – we’re all very proud of you here at Working Together.
Our Makers have been very busy making…
Our brand new Makers’ Club has really taken off with members busily making cards for a special event in December!
In previous years WT has taken part in Tinsel Tuesdays – selling our jams, chutneys and other gifts on a stall on Ludlow Market.
We don’t know if it will be possible to do this again this year, but we’re preparing anyway as we’re still hoping to sell our handmade items to supporters of Working Together and online, even if we can’t have a stall.
We’re busy planning some very special Makers’ projects that we’ll be running online – for those who aren’t able to attend Working Together’s Makers’ Club in person. More news on that to follow…
Great North Run
What a great achievement!
A massive thank you to Emily and Alistair who recently completed the Virtual Great North Run, with a route around Ludlow covering an impressive 13.1 miles.
As they came through the finish line at Sheet Farm gate they were cheered on by Tim and Simon.
Not only did they complete the course – both finishing in the top 5% – but they also raised £150 for Working Together!
If you would like to add to the sponsorship please get in touch or: Click here to donate
Thanks again to both of you.
