Almost Weekly News No. 48 – 25/09/2021
What a busy couple of weeks!
We’ve been so busy that we ‘almost’ forget to write our ‘almost weekly’ newsletter.
Youth Club’s Visit to Ludlow Croquet Club…
There’s been so much going on at Working Together that we’re not even sure where to start! So let’s begin with Youth Club and their first session back after the summer holidays…
Charity Bookshop Opens
We recently welcomed our first customer to the Charity Bookshop in Craven Arms.
The Bookshop is now open:
- Tues to Fri 9.30am to 4pm
- Saturdays 9.30am to 1pm
We’re grateful to all of the customers who have visited the shop and all those who have donated books.
It has been a real pleasure to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of the bookshop volunteers and we have lost count of the times we’ve heard the words
‘we’re so glad to see that you’re open again’.
This suggests the bookshop is still in people’s hearts and the heart of the community.
The Charity Bookshop is located at:
Unit 2, Drovers’ House
The Auction Yard
Craven Arms, SY7 9BZ
Tel: 01588 673902
Ludlow Food Bank’s Thank You Party…
Ludlow Food Bank held a Tea Party, hosted at Working Together, to say a big thank you to all the wonderful people, including WT members, who help the Food Bank to provide food parcels to those in need in the Ludlow area.
Everybody’s gone surfing!
As things here have begun to slowly return to normal we have been preparing the Café ready to welcome back the Working Together family.
We’re still a lilt bit away for being open to the public, but we are now welcoming our members, families, carers, friends and supporters back to Rockspring – please contact us in advance to book so we can manage numbers.
Everyone’s been involved, with Sewing Bee having fun cutting out new tablecloths, including a bit of table surfing – go Chloe!
We’ve been practicing our cream teas too…
Some Diary Dates:
- 12th November – Children in Need
- 23rd November – Working Together’s AGM
- 26th November – WT stall at Ludlow’s Medieval Bazaar
Ludlow Food Festival Bag Creche
Volunteers from Hands Together, the Food Bank and Working Together joined up to run the bag creche and ‘Whack A Rat’ at this year’s Ludlow Food Festival.
Here’s a picture of our Chief Officer, Nigel, with the Whack a Rat game. A big thank you to Di, Neil, Sam and Nigel for giving up some of their time to help out at the Creche.
