The BIG Garden Tidy
Thanks to everyone who has responded to our request for some help to do some tidying up in the community garden.
We’ve set Saturday June 12th as the date (10am to 12pm). Don’t worry if you haven’t been in touch yet, just turn up on the day and lend a hand…
There will be cake and drinks available, tools will also be provided and Covid Safe measures will be place.
Thank you to all of our volunteers…
This week is National Volunteers’ Week – a celebration of the contribution millions of people make in the UK through the act of volunteering.
Working Together is a big family and it takes lots of different people to keep the organisation running and the support we receive from our volunteers has been especially important to us during the Coronavirus pandemic.
We definitely wouldn’t be able to offer such a wonderfully broad range of activities and clubs and support to our Members without the great contribution made by our fantastic volunteers!
On behalf of the Members, Staff and Trustees, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our volunteers – for your time and commitment to Working Together – we really, really appreciate it.
Volunteer with us…
And now that some of the Covid-19 restrictions are being lifted – as part of the government’s Roadmap out of lockdown – we’re really looking forward to inviting more volunteers to join us at Working Together again.
Few things in life are a free lunch but its definitely something we can offer to our volunteers at Rockspring. So, if you have a few hours a week spare and would be interested in helping us why not get in touch? Email: manager@workingtogetherludlow.co.uk
Viva Mexico!
Last week our members chose to cook Mexican food for a special Thursday treat…
Tacos, veggie chilli, guacamole, salsa and sour cream were on the menu and fancy dress was the order of the day!
Trustee Simon joined us for lunch too and got into the spirit in his fancy dress t-shirt.
Covid restrictions have meant that the café has had to be closed to the public since last year. One of the positives that has come from this is that members have been experimenting more and cooking their favourite foods – both to eat at Working Together and also to take home to family and carers.
It’s something we’ll be continuing and looking to do more of in the
future.
Members have been compiling their own recipe folders and there has been talk of a WT cookbook!
Staff have been privileged to try some of this great food and are seeing members really developing their skills and cooking styles…
Feeding the birds
As well as planting vegetables in the community garden, we have also been tidying up our outdoor space at the back of the Café…
Tim has put together a bird table to help us look after and enjoy the wildlife.
Thanks Tim, that’s a cracking job. We’ll be putting out some bird food soon …
Ludlow volunteers to the rescue…
Big thanks to Graeme Perks and the volunteers at the Ludlow War Memorial Fund.
They’re repairing one of our seats for us, which is great as we’ll be spending lots of time outdoors
during the summer months and with Covid-19 safe working.
We’re looking forwards to seeing the results.
